The Cleveland Cavaliers went on to win their first game of the season, in a dominant 128-96 fashion against the Chicago Bulls. But more than anything, Donovan Mitchell is very much delighted to get that official dub as the core foundation of the franchise.

“I’m really just more happy with the fact that we got the win,” Mitchell said about the Saturday win. “The first game, it looked good and felt good, but we lost. So, tonight to go out here and get the first one as a group, was great.

“My teammates trust me. My coaches trust me. It just allows you to play with freedom and just do what I do and not put too much pressure on myself.”

Mitchell went off logging a game-high 32 points on 10 of 19 shooting to go along with nine rebounds and eight assists. Despite missing Darius Garland’s presence as he continued to nurse his eye injury, the All-star guard gained plenty of help from the supporting cast, as six players reached double-digit scoring numbers.

The Cavs will look to stretch their first winning mark as they encounter the Washington Wizards on Sunday.
