As expected, the Warriors signed contract extensions with Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins, and not with Draymond Green. The four-time NBA champion has two years left on his current contract. That’s including this season. Next year is a player option.

There were rumors that Green wants to join the Lakers. However, Golden State is reportedly not concerned with such reports and views them as a tactic for negotiations.

NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski revealed what he sees as the most likely scenario for Green’s future. According Woj, that’s him opting in on his contract.

“Two years left on his deal and there can be room for an extension at the end those two years or a new deal that probably is south of that $27.5-28 million, perhaps is an erase off of that,” Woj said on ESPN.

“If the Warriors are winning and Draymond is still a highly productive player and wants to be there, I don’t think it means that his days are necessarily numbered in Golden State…

“I think there is a lot of time left for the Warriors and Draymond Green to make that decision [on a contract extension], but certainly I think the opt in on his contract next summer is probably the most likely scenario.”
