Retired professional cager Marvin Williams has returned to his roots.

Per Rod Boone of News & Observer, Williams was tapped by the Charlotte Hornets to become a member of their basketball operations department. Added by Boone, the former big man will aid in the team’s aspects of player programs and development.

After a wonderful one-year collegiate run for the North Carolina Tar Heels, Williams was chosen by the Atlanta Hawks for the second pick of the 2005 Draft. He then spent some other parts of his career suiting up for the Hornets, Utah Jazz and Milwaukee Bucks.

He ultimately retired in 2020, chalking up 10.2 points, 5.2 boards, 1.3 assists career averages for 16 total seasons.
