Lakers newcomer Patrick Beverley is famous for his defense and when he was traded to Los Angeles, some doubted his three-point shooting, especially in combination to that of Russell Westbrook.

Last season the 34-year-old point guard made 34.3% of his 3-pointers while playing for the Timberwolves. But when it comes to catch-and-shoot 3-pointers, the percentage is higher as he pointed out during a training camp interview.

“It’s really 39 [percent]. It’s 38.8 [percent]. You guys keep saying 38 [percent],” Beverley referred to his catch-and-shoot 3-point percentage which is on par to that of Steph Curry (39.5%). “Numbers don’t lie. Elite catch-and-shoot 3-point shooter, obviously.

“My defense has always been at the forefront because that’s what people see, but when it comes down to the numbers, I shoot with the best on the league and numbers don’t lie.”
