It was a tough first year for Russell Westbrook on the Lakers. The former NBA MVP struggled on the court and received a wave of criticism. Eventually it led to trade rumors that are still ongoing.

Draymond Green was blunt when talking about Russ and the Lakers. However, he defended LeBron James for wanting the point guard on his team even though it did not work out in the end.

“I one hundred percent think the fit is terrible. I don’t think you could talk to Russell Westbrook right now and [he] wouldn’t think the fit is terrible. Nonetheless, just because the fit is terrible don’t mean you don’t go for it. Because guess what, if you go for it and it works, then you got a championship.”
