Ettore Messina could become the first European head coach in the NBA. espn.com reports that he is on the list of candidates to replace Scott Brooks.
UConn coach Kevin Ollie and Florida coach Billy Donovan are reportedly at the top of the Thunders GM Sam Presti’s list of potential candidates. Ollie, however, declared that he’s staying with UConn Huskies.
Since the beginning of this season Messina is an assistant coach of Gregg Popovich. It’s his second time in the NBA. Messina has also worked as a consultant for Mike Brown at the Los Angeles Lakers.
