Spain beat Lithuania 69-61 in Podgorica to claim the U20 European Championship.

For Spain, it ends a six-year wait for glory with Ruben Dominguez leading them to the promised land with 17 points. Michael Sanchez added 13 on 5/8 shooting and Juan Nunez got 11 and tournament MVP honours.

A closely-fought battle was broken open in the final quarter, where Spain scored the first seven points, eventually holding the Lithuanians to six points in the last ten minutes.

Mantas Rubtavicius led Lithuania with 15 points.

Earlier, the hosts Montenegro won the bronze medal, beating Israel 86-77.
