According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Washington Wizards star guard Bradley Beal has declined his $36.4 million option and become a free agent. Beal is eligible to sign a 5-year max to return to Wizards or sign elsewhere on a 4-year deal.

Beal, 28, only played in 40 games last season after injuring his wrist midway through the season, but in 40 games he averaged 23.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game.
