The rumors surrounding Kyrie Irving and the Lakers are heating up as the former NBA champion and the Nets are failing to reach an agreement on contract extension.
However, a potential sign-and-trade deal that would send the 30-year-old point guard to Los Angeles will not be easy to make. According to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Lakers are the only team interested in such move, but none of the trade packages that are available from the purple and gold are not interesting to Brooklyn.
Irving needs a trade partner to coordinate an agreement on a deal to get a long-term, maximum contract, but only the Lakers have interest in executing a sign-and-trade once free agency opens on Thursday night, sources said.
So far, the Nets have no interest in taking back the available Lakers packages, sources said.
