New Milwaukee Buck MarJon Beauchamp let it all out on Thursday when he was drafted 24th overall in the 2022 NBA draft.
“I’m just glad,” Beauchamp said. “I’m just happy. God never gave up on me. Everything I had to go through. All the adversity and no one believing in me. It’s just special.”
Beauchamp has had quite the journey, bouncing around from a number of different high schools, spending time with a trainer, going to junior college, and ultimately ending up on the G League Ignite last year.
“I learned that I’m a warrior,” the 21-year-old said. “You can just throw me out there and I’m going to figure it out. I found God, and God led me through the hardest times in my life. I thank him every day now. I thank my grandma. And this is for my grandpa, I’m living for his legacy. I just want to be great.”
