Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Giddey and Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes have been named Rookies of the Month for February in the Western and Eastern Conference, respectively.

Giddey has now won the award in all four months (November-February) in the West, while this is Barnes’ first time winning it this season in the East.

Giddey, 19, averaged 16.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game, leading all rookies in rebounds and assists in the month and shooting 46.6 percent from the field.

He recorded three straight triple-doubles on Feb. 12 against the Chicago Bulls (11 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists), Feb. 14 against the New York Knicks (28 points, 11 rebounds, 12 assists) and Feb. 16 against the San Antonio Spurs (17 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists).

Barnes, 20, averaged 15.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.5 steals per game, ranking fifth in scoring, fourth in rebounding and third in steals, while shooting 54.0 percent from the field.

He had his best performance on Feb. 28 against the Brooklyn Nets when he recorded 28 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals.

West: Jalen Green (Houston Rockets), Jonathan Kuminga (Golden State Warriors), Tre Mann (Oklahoma City Thunder)

East: Cade Cunningham (Detroit Pistons), Evan Mobley (Cleveland Cavaliers), Cam Thomas (Brooklyn Nets), Franz Wagner (Orlando Magic)

Both Giddey and Barnes are considered candidates for the NBA Rookie of the Year award this season along with Mobley and Cunningham.
