Lakers newcomer D.J. Augustin played for 10 different NBA teams before coming to L.A. But when the offer came to join the purple and gold, he knew he could not pass up on it.

“Like I said, I had a few other teams calling me but at that time I just mentally wasn’t into going right back into playing,” Augustin said. “But then when the Lakers called, like I said, you think about the history, you think about the championships, you think about Kobe, Magic, all those guys, I know I’m leaving so many guys out even LeBron what he’s done since he’s been here.

“You can’t pass up on opportunities like that as an NBA player. I would have regretted looking back on my career not taking this opportunity no matter what comes from it. I just felt like I would regret not jumping on that opportunity.”
