New York Knicks center Obi Toppin has entered NBA’s health and safety protocols, the team announced Saturday ahead of Sunday’s matchup vs the Milwaukee Bucks.

Toppin has been solid for the Knicks coming off the bench this year, after a really quiet rookie year. He is an injection of energy for his team behind RJ Barrett and Julius Randle, averaging 8.7 points and 3.9 rebounds in 26 games.

With Toppin sidelined, the Knicks will likely rely on Jericho Sims off the bench behind Randle. Sims hasn’t played much this season averaging just a point per game in nine appearances.

The Knicks are on a disappointing 12-14 and just 12th in the Eastern Conference, after their surprising regular-season run, which ended with the fourth-best record in the East.
