The game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Detroit Pistons was marked by a fight between LeBron James and Isaiah Stewart. The Pistons center was hit by the Lakers star’s elbow and needed five stitches afterwards.

According to Carmelo Anthony, while it was an unfortunate situation, it was necessary for the Lakers to ignite their fighting spirit. “It’s unfortunate about what happened but we needed something like that to spark our fire,” he said postgame.

“We haven’t had anything like that to test us from a physical standpoint. Although, like I said, it’s unfortunate what happened but we needed that to spark something. And it did.”
