Los Angeles Lakers newcomer Wayne Ellington will have to wait for his official debut with the team after signing as a free agent this past offseason. The 33-year-old shooting guard suffered a hamstring injury during preseason and continues his recovery.

Lakers head coach Frank Vogel provided an update on Ellington’s status during a press conference. “He’s still day-to-day. I’m still not sure exactly what he did on the court. Our group only walked through stuff so I’m not sure if he did pre-practice work or not but he’ll be out tomorrow [against the Memphis Grizzlies] again. Hopefully sometime next week he’ll return. He’s still day-to-day.”
