The Los Angeles Lakers will play without veteran forward Trevor Ariza for the next eight weeks.
Ariza underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right ankle and will miss two months of action, the Lakers announced.
The 36-year-old veteran would have a significant role in the roster this season. However, he will now need to wait until mid-December to make his debut with the team.
With Trevor Ariza out, the Lakers may seek to sign another player to a short-term contract.
