ALBA Berlin star forward Marcus Eriksson will miss several weeks with a back injury, the team announced Tuesday. The veteran forward suffered a fracture in his left lumbar spine during the EuroLeague opener vs. FC Barcelona.

Eriksson is an important part of ALBA’s plan with his incredible shooting. The sharpshooter from Sweden has spent the last two seasons in Berlin.

Last season, Eriksson appeared in 22 EuroLeague games, averaging 12.4 points shooting 44.3 percent from the three-point range.

ALBA adds another player to the injury list as Kresimir Nikic, Christ Koumadje and Johannes Thiemann did not play in the EuroLeague opener and the German Cup game vs. Telecom Baskets Bonn on Sunday.
