Atlanta Hawks superstar Trae Young suffered a quad injury during the first preseason game against the Miami Heat. Nate McMillan said he did not have an update on Young’s injury after the game.

Young talked to the press after the contest against Miami, and he claimed that it’s not a serious injury. Young had 14 points (5-of-15 from the field) and three assists in 18 minutes of action prior to exiting.

“I’ll be good,” Young told Sarah K. Spencer of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution after Atlanta’s 125-99 loss. “Trust me.”

The Hawks superstar has generally spoken a ‘clean’ injury history. However, he was forced to miss Games 4 and 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals during last season.

The 23-year-old was averaging 29.8 points and 9.5 assists in 15 playoff games before injuring his foot. Given its only preseason, it’s unclear if Young will be available for the rest of the games until the official start of the NBA season.
