Washington Wizards superstar Bradley Beal is eligible for a contract extension this season, but he’s definitely not in a rush to come to an agreement with the team.

“My biggest thing is getting us off going to a good start,” Beal said Monday, according to Ava Wallace of the Washington Post. “We worry about the contract money and all that later. I’ll let them deal with it when the time comes, for sure. I got all year to sign, too. So, I’m not in a rush.”

Beal had a great year with the Wizards last season, averaging a career-high 31.3 points per game. He helped the Wizards make a late regular season run to make the playoffs.

The Wizards can offer Beal a four-year, $181.5 million extension starting Friday. The All-Star guard can become a free agent following the 2021-22 campaign, If he does not sign an extension in Washington.
