ALBA Berlin was able to secure its first victory in the German BBL, as they blew past Fraport Skyliners in front of their fans in Berlin (101-63).

ALBA took control of the game early as they led by 12 points (27-15) in the first quarter, and they never looked back again, capitalizing on their outstanding shooting percentages.

Israel Gonzalez saw last season’s easyCredit BBL MVP Jaleen Smith having a hot start with four makes from the field, as veteran sharpshooter Marcus Erickson led the team in scoring with 21 points.

Smith finished with 13 points, while Ben Lamers had 16 points and five rebounds for the winning side. ALBA finished the contest with 32 assists, while they shot 52 percent from three-point range.

In another close-fought battle, Brose Bamberg prevailed over Giessen 46ers with an 89-87 win thanks to Omar Prewitt, who made the winning shot for the home side.

Prewitt had an exceptional game as he dominated the 46ers’ defence with 32 points, nine rebounds and three assists. For the visitors, who fought hard and got back to the game multiple times, Brayon Blake had 18 points.

In the third game of the night, Oldenburg survived a slow start in the first quarter (17-25) and claimed an 82-79 victory over Merlins Crailsheim. Tai Odiase led the winning side with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
