With the start of the offseason, the rumors appeared and suggested that Damian Lillard is going to request a trade from the Portland Trail Blazers. The main reason behind such rumors was Dame’s desire to win which he was unable to do in Portland as the 2021 Playoffs ended with a first round exit for his team.
The talks later settled down. However, according to sports analyst Shannon Sharpe, the likelihood of Lillard changing teams remains high because the Blazers did not make moves to improve the roster.
“I do believe Dame is all in at the start of the season, but can someone tell me the move the Blazers made that makes them a contender? By the trade deadline, I think Dame will be in Philly,” Sharpe said on UNDISPUTED.
