DeMar DeRozan is one of the names that has been linked with the Los Angeles Lakers for some time. This offseason is no different and there appears to be interest from both sides. A report recently claimed that the Lakers are still considering the 31-year-old small forward from the San Antonio Spurs.

According to Broderick Turner of Los Angeles Lakers, DeRozan, who spent three seasons in San Antonio, would be willing to take a pay cut in order to join his hometown team:

“DeRozan, who starred at Compton High and USC, has interest in returning home to play for the Lakers, even if it is for less than the $27.7 million he earned last season in San Antonio, according to people not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.”

This past season, DeRozan averaged 21.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game. He became an unrestricted free agent this offseason. For the past five seasons, he was making around $27 million per year.
