Brooklyn Nets assistant Jacque Vaughn has decided to withdraw his name from available head coaching openings, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

Vaughn chose to do so for family reasons, citing the chance to spend time with his two teenage sons as a primary reason for returning to the Nets for next season, Wojnarowski adds.

Vaughn has been an assistant with the Nets since 2016 and served as the interim head coach last season in the Orlando bubble.

The New Orleans Pelicans had Vaughn as a candidate for their head coach vacancy, as they recently got permission to interview him.

The 46-year-old was believed to be the frontrunner for the job.

Now the Pelicans will shift their focus to other coaches including Pelicans assistant Fred Vinson and Milwaukee Bucks assistant Charles Lee.
