Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid is doubtful for Game 5 against the Washington Wizards, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

He had an MRI on his right knee today and is expected to be evaluated further in the next day.

The 27-year-old MVP finalist left in the first quarter of the team’s 122-114 Game 4 loss with right knee soreness and did not return.

In four games against the Wizards, Embiid is averaging 24.0 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.

If Embiid ultimately doesn’t play, the 76ers will likely start Mike Scott and have Dwight Howard come off the bench, as both players will get more minutes.

The Wizards won Game 4 to avoid being swept and they will look to keep the momentum going in Game 5 on June 2 with the 76ers holding a 3-1 series lead.
