Charlotte Hornets rookie star LaMelo Ball seemed to be NBA-ready since he entered the league via the 2020 NBA Draft. The rookie sensation is averaging 16.0 points, 6.2 assists, 5.8 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game.

Ball was asked, in an exclusive interview with Jonathan Abrams of the New York Times, when he felt he could have ‘adequately competed’ in the NBA.

“Reasonably competed? I would say, my thought process, I was 14 at the time when I thought I could have been,” Ball replied.

The rookie is leading the Charlotte Hornets to the play-in tournament hoping to make the playoffs for the first time since 2016. They currently sit eighth in the Eastern Conference with four games remaining.
