With four regular season games left, the Los Angeles Lakers have a slim chance of climbing to the sixth seed in the Western Conference.

The reigning NBA champions have 38 wins and 30 losses and currently sit in the seventh place in the West. They will face the Knicks, Rockets, Pacers and Pelicans to finish the regular season.

According to Marc Gasol, it is more important for the Lakers to be the best team they can rather than to secure the sixth seed.

“I think it’s the difference between importance and urgency,” he said ahead of the Knicks game. “Is it urgent to finish sixth? Is it more important? Or is it more important, more urgent to be the best team that we can be?

“I’d put the best team we can be in front of finishing a certain spot on the standings. But both are important. I think it’s more urgent to keep growing as a team.”
