Kobe Bryant’s sneaker deal with Nike is over, according to Complex. The publication, which cites sources, reports the estate of Kobe Bryant did not renew the former Los Angeles Lakers superstar’s deal with the sportswear giants this month and, unless the two sides come to an agreement, it could mark the end of what has been a long relationship between Nike and the Bryant name.

Complex says sneaker industry sources have made claims of Kobe’s latest deal with the company coming to an end on April 13. Nike did not respond when reached for comment but the apparel giants have more Kobe sneakers due for launch this year. Sources say the upcoming drops will be the last Kobe Nikes to be released for the time being.

Bryant signed with Nike in 2003 and the company continued to release sneakers for him after he retired in 2016. Since he passed away in 2020, the company has brought back a number of older models as retros.

Bryant is set to be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame this year, with his idol Michael Jordan to present him.
