Real Madrid is the front-runner to sign Vincent Poirier for the upcoming season, per Chema de Lucas. The Frenchman is looking for his next step of his career, after leaving the NBA and the New York Knicks.

Poirier has a limited role in his two seasons in the NBA playing for the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers. If the veteran big sign a deal with Madrid, it will mark his return to the EuroLeague after last playing in the competition with Baskonia for two seasons.

Poirier was named in the All-EuroLeague second team in 2019 being one of the best rebounding bigs in the competition the same season.

The former Baskonia center played just 130 minutes for the Celtics in his first NBA season, and was released during the offseason.

He was signed by the Sixers for the minimum having an even smaller role in Doc Rivers’ rotation playing just 39 minutes for Philadelphia this season.
