New York Knicks could look to improve their roster at the trade deadline, which is set to take place Thursday. According to Marc Berman of NY Post, the Knicks are interested in adding wing depth and Norman Powell could be in their radar.

Powell is expected to become an unrestricted free agent after this season, and Berman suggest that the New York franchise is not willing to give up any future assets to acquire the Toronto Raptors’ forward.

“While the Raptors are shopping point guard Kyle Lowry, the Knicks have much more interest in Powell, who is expected to opt out to become an unrestricted free agent following the season.

In the same vein as Houston’s Victor Oladipo, the Knicks don’t wish to give up first-round picks for the 27-year-old Powell as a rental and would prefer assurances he would re-sign if they make a move,” Berman wrote.

Powell is having a career-year as the starting forward of the Toronto Raptors averaging 19.5 points per game and shooting 49.5 percent, including 43.4 percent from deep.
