Despite the fact that the San Antonio Spurs made LaMarcus Aldridge available, the Miami Heat are still focused on acquiring forward Rudy Gay, per report.

Gay is in the last season of his contract, like Aldrigde, being a 34-year-old savvy veteran forward that can offer a two-way presence in the Miami Heat front court.

He has been with the Spurs since the 2016/17 season. For the 2020-21 season, Gay is averaging 11.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game off the bench.

According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Heat will not give up any future assets neither a young player of their roster for a rental, as Gay will be an unrestricted free agent next summer.
