Jaylen Brown and Derrick White led the Celtics in scoring, each contributing 25 points. Sam Hauser added 17 points, while Jayson Tatum contributing a double-double performance of 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Boston’s victory was a statement of redemption after their loss to Miami in a seven-game series in the Eastern Conference Finals last season.
Despite a valiant effort from Bam Adebayo, who tallied 23 points for the Heat, Miami couldn’t recover from an 18-point first quarter deficit. Tyler Herro contributed 15 points.
The Celtics will face the winner of the Cleveland Cavaliers-Orlando Magic series in the next round.
