After winning a national championship for Syracuse in college, Memphis rookie Hakim Warrick was again on center stage during the 2006 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. Warrick says his most memorable moment from the weekend wasn’t on the court, but instead came on an elevator when he ran into Kevin Garnett. KG was Hakim’s idol growing up and the reason why he wore #21 during his pro career.

“I remember my rookie year, I’m getting on the elevator and he was like ‘My favorite Orangeman!’ He’s the reason why I wore #21, so that was love.”
