The Los Angeles Lakers snapped their four-game losing streak by defeating the Portland Trail Blazers 102-93 at Staples Center. Dennis Schroder was back in action for the reigning NBA champions. He made a big contribution for the team with 22 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Lakers’ top performer was LeBron James with 28 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists.

After the game Lakers’ head coach Frank Vogel was asked about LeBron’s defense against Portland. “When you’re playing against Dame, it’s not just the guy on Dame that’s required to try to slow him down,” he said.

“Your bigs have to be active. How active we are defensively, how vocal we are defensively behind that double team is everything in trying to slow down this team. LeBron leads us like a middle linebacker leads our defense in that regard.

“When we’re double teaming and he’s either splitting the double team or hitting the roller, getting behind the double team. To have Bron on the back side commanding coverages. But also making charge type plays, block shots and then defensively on the glass. He was huge for us tonight.”
