The Toronto Raptors could move vital roster pieces during this season, as Kyle Lowry is part of the latest rumors surrounding the future of the franchise.

According to Bleacher Report, a portion of the Raptors’ personnel believes they should move on from franchise leader Kyle Lowry.

“The biggest domino that could fall and may impact the title race: Kyle Lowry. There is a portion of Raptors personnel, league sources said, that believes the franchise should bid its beloved All-Star farewell and begin Toronto’s next chapter in earnest.

“There’s a time capsule for everybody and everything,” said one Western Conference executive, “and it’s probably just time to move on.”

After a dreadful 2-8 start, the Raptors improved their record thanks to an 8-5 run in the last 13 games. The Raptors are still having seven players, who were part of the 2018 championship team.

Lowry, who’s set to become a free agent after the end of this season, could be on the trading block, if the Raptors decide to retool their roster.

According to the report, the Los Angeles Clippers and the Miami Heat could potentially show interest in the 35-year-old guard, while other teams, like the Magic, the Cavaliers and the Spurs, are in dire need of adding a veteran ball-handler.
