Before the Eurocup’s 16-game marathon, two games were played out to start round two. Both games though saw wins for the home sides.

In Group A, Paris Levallois defeated Reggio Emila 88-76 in the French capital, after a dominating third quarter showing that saw the hosts’ half-time advantage increase from 42-38 to 71-54.

Paris slowed the offence down in the final quarter, but the damage had been done Sharrod Ford posted 15 points and 11 boards for the winners, who outrebounded Reggio Emilia 43-33. Nicolas Lang added 14 points for Paris, who scored their first win at the second attempt.

“We had good passages in offense but also in defence,” said Paris coach Gregor Beugnot. “But be careful, it’s been difficult for many times and we have to improve those parts of our games. We let them come back sometimes and this needs to be corrected.”

CEZ Nymburk came back from 17-points down to claim a 77-71 win over EWE Baskets Oldenburg in the Czech capital.

The hosts were down 27-10 in the second quarter before a 14-2 burst put them back into contention. From the point where Nymburk took the lead in the third, they never relinquished their position and from there, held on for the win.

Petr Benda led the winners with 15 points.
