Kyrie Irving added a new Brooklyn Nets’ record during Christmas Day, as he exploded for 37 points against his former team, the Boston Celtics.

Irving shot the lights out with 13-out-of-21 from the field making seven out of his ten attempts from beyond the arc. He also added eight assists and six rebounds with just one turnover.

His 37 points is the best scoring performance on Christmas Day for a Nets’ player in franchise history, via SB Nations’ Nets Daily.

He and Kevin Durant combined for 66 points to lead the Brooklyn Nets to their second win in the regular season. Nets’ impressive performance followed their opening night blowout win over the Golden State Warriors.

The Nets’ Christmas scoring record, before Irving’s, was Michael Ray Richardson’s 1984 performance against the Knicks with 36 points, according to ESPN.
