Deni Avdija shouted out his home country of Israel after his NBA debut on Wednesday.

The Wizards rookie said he greatly appreciates all the support from fans back home following his journey.

Avdija started for Washington last night, scoring 7 points and grabbing 4 rebounds vs. the Philadelphia 76ers.

“I’m glad I came from Israel and the whole nation is behind me, and everybody supports me and wants the best for me. It’s fun to play when you have the whole country on your back, and hopefully we’re going to grind together and I’m going to make them proud.”
