Various NBA analysts may be skeptical on whether LaMelo Ball could become a difference maker in the NBA. Ball may have a long way ahead of him, before anyone considered him a superstar, but he definitely has the talent to become one.

After Ball’s performance in Charlotte’s latest preseason game, the former NBA superstar and future Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade praised the rookie’s game by having emphatic reaction on social media.

Ball came off the bench to put 18 points on 7-17 shooting against Orlando. He made four of his nine 3-point attempts adding also five assists.

Lonzo Ball’s younger brother followed a less traditional path, before entering the NBA via the 2020 Draft. In particular, he decided to skip college and play pro ball overseas in Lithuania.

Later on, he played for a small-time pro league upon returning to the United States, and made the move to Australia to play in the National Basketball League.

The Hornets believe in Ball’s talent and that’s the reason they selected him with the third overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.

It remains to be seen If Ball is up for the challenge. The Hornets will play against Orlando again on Saturday for their final preseason game.

NBA season sets to start on Dec.22.
