Bam Adebayo believes Precious Achiuwa will have a great season as a rookie with the Miami Heat. In particular, Adebayo expects Achiuwa to have a better rookie season than him, according to Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald.

As a freshman with the Tigers last season, Achiuwa averaged 15.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 1.1 steal, and 1.9 blocks in 30.4 minutes per contest.

As a result, he won AAC Rookie of the Year and AAC Player of the Year, while also gaining AAC All-Freshman and All-AAC honors in what was a tremendous one-and-done year in college.

Adebayo was the 14th overall pick of the 2017 Draft. He averaged 6.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 19.8 minutes as a rookie with the Miami Heat.

Despite not being among the best rookies of the 2017 class, Adebayo now is one of the best bigs in the league being a huge presence in both offense and defense.

Whereas it is not clear what Achiuwa’s role will be in Miami this season, the Heat might be primed to have one of the best NBA frontcourt duo in the future.
