Bam Adebayo addressed the situation after the game and admitted uncertainty about the team’s current issues. The Heat center pointed to extra possessions as the main factor in the defeat. He stated, “The one thing I feel like we’ve had trouble with is the second chance points. I feel like that was the biggest difference in this game tonight.”
Adebayo also noted the opponent’s shot-making while stressing effort on defense. He said, “Other than that and guys were making tough shots. You live with those type of shots, but the second chance is what really hurt us tonight.”
With Miami preparing for a critical stretch before the postseason, the focus shifted to urgency. Adebayo said, “At this point it’s we got to figure out how to wheel one.”
Defensive consistency has been a recurring issue, something the captain did not avoid addressing. He explained, “Frustrating for sure, but you know, we’re going to have ups and downs and you know, we’re in the funk right now.”
He outlined what Miami must correct to stabilize performances. Adebayo added, “We just need to figure out how we can compete on the ball. Limit second chance points and then try to get us some more transition points.”
Looking ahead at the remaining schedule, the Heat big man emphasized immediate results over long-term scenarios. He said, “We just need to figure out how to get these next two worry about the playing after that.”
Miami has also shown strong results in specific scheduling conditions, something Adebayo referenced when discussing consistency. He stated, “Yeah, until you get to the playoffs and there isn’t no back to backs. But that’s something positive to look at.”
The loss keeps Miami in the play-in zone at 41-39, with seeding still undecided as the regular season approaches its final stretch.
