Charlotte Hornets guard Malik Monk has tested positive for COVID-19, according to head coach James Borrego.

Monk reportedly has no symptoms, but will miss at least several more days of practice, notes Rick Bonnell of The Charlotte Observer.

The 22-year-old should be ready for the start of the season on Dec. 22.

Last season, Monk averaged 10.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game in 55 games.

The NBA recently announced that 48 players tested positive for COVID-19, so there will be many players besides Monk who will be waiting to get medically cleared.
