The Miami Heat are in the race to sign Giannis Antetokounmpo, who may become an unrestricted free agent in the next offseason.

However, the Heat have a Plan B in case the back-to-back MVP decides to remain with the Milwaukee Bucks and sign the supermax extension.

That backup plan could be the Washington Wizards’ superstar Bradley Beal, according to the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson and Anthony Chiang.

(via NBC Sports):

“If Giannis Antetokounmpo signs a max extension with the Bucks, Washington guard Bradley Beal becomes the No. 1 Heat target if or when he becomes available. The Heat’s interest remains very high, according to a source with direct knowledge.”

Jackson created a hypothetical package, which consisted of Tyler Herro as the centerpiece along with Duncan Robinson or Precious Achiuwa and a future first-round pick plus salary fillers.

On the other side, the Wizards stated again and again that Beal is not available, after several reports suggested that various contenders around the league want to trade for him.
