The New York Knicks have expressed interest to trade for Gordon Hayward, according to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer.
Hayward has a player option for the 2020/21 season, worth $34.2M. But, it is unknown whether he will exercise it or become a free agent.
If the Boston Celtics decide they don’t want to retain Hayward in the roster and make him available for trade, then the Knicks will enter the picture.
Hayward averaged 17.5 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game for the Celtics last season.
