The Dallas Mavericks are willing to give up the 18th pick and trade into the lottery (1-14), according to Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News.

“Though they currently own the 18th and 31st picks in the Nov. 18 draft, the Mavericks have a strong desire to trade into the lottery (picks 1-14).”

It is not clear yet if the Mavericks are urging to move on the top-tier of the Draft, but every player -minus Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis- is available in potential trade.

Dallas has entered a ‘win-now’ situation with Luka Doncic exploding into stardom during last season. The Mavs are projected to have no cap space for free agent signings, but they could definitely add a player via trade.

According to Townsend, Dallas seems to be an attractive destination, after Doncic finished last season with MVP-like numbers averaging 28.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 8.8 assists per contest.

He was also named All-NBA first-team leading the franchise to the first playoff appearance since 2015-2016 season. In any case, the Mavs seem ready to add more talent to compete for a title in the near future.
