The Los Angeles Lakers are the 2020 NBA champions, after an impressive postseason run in the Orlando ‘bubble’ that led to the franchise’s 17th championship.

According to a survey conducted by The Athletic, in which several NBA agents took part, Anthony Davis has proved many of them wrong with his impressive showing in the ‘bubble’.

When Anthony hit the game-winner and hit those back to back 3s, it was, ‘Wow, here’s a guy who’s on a big stage for the first time and he’s not even a 3-point shooter like that and he hit back to back 3s to win the game.’ It said, ‘Okay, maybe this guy is an alpha superstar who didn’t have the tools around him to be that.’ … It changes the ceiling and the runway for this Lakers team. Maybe when LeBron slows down Anthony can take over and be the best player in the world.”

Davis showed signs of greatness during his first season with the Lakers as he posted averages of 26.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game in the regular season.

He then continued his impressive form in the postseason, as he amped up his numbers to an average of 27.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per contest shooting 57% from the field.
