The NBA could reportedly begin the 2020/21 season before Christmas Day, according to Shams Charania. The new season will last until July with 72 regular-season games.

After an unprecedented situation in the 2019/2020 season, where the NBA stopped its activity back in March for five months until its return inside the Orlando “bubble” early in August, the league will try to return to a form of normalcy.

Earlier reports suggested the NBA could return in January 2021 in order to increase the odds of fans being allowed into stadiums.

However, with a global pandemic in full display during the next months, fans will not be able to attend games even if the NBA push back its start.

If the season starts on 22 December, it could be concluded in July with NBA returning gradually to its previous form, as the next season will start in October.
