Carmelo Anthony claimed earlier in the season that he would like to continue playing for the Portland Trail Blazers, however, according to the recent report, that could not be the case under a certain situation.
According to Jason Quick of The Athletic, Anthony could opt to sign with another NBA team, where he can play big minutes.
The Blazers are expected to welcome back Jason Collins, Rodney Hood, and Trevor Ariza to their regular rotation, as the three players missed most of the 2019-2020 season for different reasons.
Anthony had a great contribution as the third option in Portland’s offense behind Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum during the 2019-2020 season.
He averaged 15.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game in 32.8 minutes of action. The former New York Knicks’ superstar is an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
