Ty Lue is emerging as the front-runner for the Houston Rockets’ head coaching vacancy, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Tim MacMahon.

Lue met with the franchise’s ownership and management Monday. The former Cavaliers’ head coach is also a candidate for the Los Angeles Clippers job, as the LA-based franchise is still searching for a new head coach.

The Rockets are also going to meet with Jeff Van Gundy for their current vacant head coaching position. Houston parted ways with Mike D’Antoni last month, after failing to make it past the second round of the playoffs.

Lue was an assistant coach for the LA Clippers the previous season working under Doc Rivers, who was also among the candidates for the Rockets’ position, before agreeing to terms with the Philadelphia 76ers.
