Doc Rivers had no intention to take over another team after parting ways with the Los Angeles Clippers.
After leaving the Clippers, Rivers wanted to take a break and stay away from coaching for a while.
Yet, the veteran coach admitted the Sixers were a job he could not turn down.
“I was not just going to coach anybody. I was ready to take a break. It depended on the team that was available,” Rivers said during his introductory press conference, via Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times.
Rivers signed a five-year contract with Philadelphia a few days ago.
