Fred VanVleet opened up about the Toronto Raptors avoiding a 0-3 deficit in the series against the Boston Celtics.

VanVleet believes the sweep of the Brooklyn Nets in the first round did not help Toronto find some rhythm on both ends and get ready for the semifinals.

“With all due respect to Brooklyn, I don’t think that got us ready to play at the level we needed to be ready for Game 1 (vs. Boston). … Nobody was happy. People were pissed off. The mood wasn’t great,” VanVleet said after Game 3, via The Washington Post’s Ben Golliver.

VanVleet and the Raptors remained alive in the series, thanks to OG Anunoby’s three-pointer at the buzzer (104-103).

Toronto is now trailing the series (2-1). Game 4 is on Saturday.
